Studio

Lua Azul is a residential recording-studio in the Portuguese countryside near the river Alva, with beautiful scenery and stunning views over the Serra da Estrela and Serra do Açcor. All modern equipment is available, like Protools HD, Yamaha 02R96, plugins, top outboardgear and mics. Bösendorfer imperial grandpiano, Premier drumkit, bass-and guitaramps, etc.

Location

Lua Azul is situated at an old Portuguese farm, Vale das Potas, just outside the village of Meda de Mouros. You can stay with up to 10 people in a comfortable way with a lot of privacy. There are 3 appartments, all with bathrooms, kitchens, balconies and gardens, also a big family kitchen with cook on request. There is a swimmingpool and access to the river Alva, own spring-water, solar-and wind energy, olives, grapes, organic vegetables and fruits. ADSL, satellite tv connect you with the world outside and the sky shows you all the stars you cannot see anymore in our over-illuminated western cities.

The recording rooms

The studio has 3 recording rooms , each with their own acoustics, a control room and separate machine room, and a vocalboot, also good for acoustic guitar, shakers, etc. The first room is very high and holds the grandpiano, this gives a lot of possibilities for mikesettings. A separate drumroom, 5 x 4 meters if you want less reverb or room. The third room has a very special slate-acoustic, slate is a perfect soundabsorber. Finally the kitchen is very fine for recording horns.
